What is antibiotics and how do it work?

Antibiotic are  medicines used to treat some infection or some diseases caused by bacteria (E.G. respiratory tract some infection such as whooping cough and pneumonia ).

Antibiotics are used for a range of different type infections caused by bacteria, including  skin infections and urinary tract infections or infected wounds.

Antibiotics always saved millions of lives since they were first introduced in the 1940s  to 1950s. However, because they have been overused, many of antibiotics are no longer effective against the bacteria, they once killed. Just search what antibiotic resistance is and how can affect to you, and how you can help prevent,.

How to do antibiotics work?

Antibiotics always work by blocking vital processes in bacteria, stopping them from multiplying or  killing the bacteria. This helps  our body for  natural immune system to fight the bacterial infection.

Antibiotics different in the types of bacteria they work against.

Antibiotics, that affect a wide range of bacteria  which we called broad spectrum  E.G. amoxycillin and gentamicin.

Antibiotics always affect only a few types of bacteria we called narrow spectrum E.G. penicillin.

Different type of antibiotics work in differents ways. Example, penicillin hardly destroys bacterial cell walls, while other antibiotics can fast affect the way of the bacterial  works cell.

Doctors choose an antibiotic according to the bacteria, cause a particular infection that usually. Sometimes they do a test to identify confirm type of bacteria causing your  sensitivity and infection to particular antibiotics.
